Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Ouray, Colorado

Ouray was named for Chief Ouray. (See Stories section.) It is famous now as a tourist location to relax in. It offers many vacation ideas and boasts low sulfur hot springs. In spite of this, there is so much to do in this area you could spend months here. Cascade falls, just east of town on 7th street, is a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Box Canyon falls is on the other side. Despite its current attractions, it was once the center for area mining. Many buildings in town are from era and most are in good shape. The town also has markers along the main street displaying pictures of the buildings opposite them and when they were built.
