Hi everybody. Trying to keep this website up and running. It's on a slow DSL connection is now limited to a total bandwidth of 70kbps. Sorry about that, anything more kills my home internet connection. I also had to limit number of users to 2 - so keep trying. The info is all still here. Be well, everyone.

NOW more MOBILE FRIENDLY! Doing some updates to the website. I've been attempting to make the website more mobile friendly. Up until now, Google (thanks Obama) had been removing my website from google searches on mobile devices. This meant only computers could find my site - not good considering people need my site often when exploring. I've widened the area for viewing, and with this change, I'm redoing graphics, adding content, and will impliment a new map system with the Google maps API to make finding locations easier. The Coloradopast page has also been removed from Facebook, and has been replaced by a Facebook group - please find us, join, and discuss Colorado ghost towns!

I love the history of the mining towns, and when I learned Images of America didn't have a book on Silverton, I wrote one. It's called Silverton and the Alpine Loop. It's my first, so be gentle. Order online from Amazon.com

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man the less, but nature more.
-Lord Byron
