February 20, 2019Posted by Webmaster

Established in the 1890s and named for the nearby Mayday Mine (to which Parrot City owned its fame), Mayday is now a small community of ranchers. At one time, prior to Durango, Mayday was the county seat. The saloon looking building here was dismantled from La Plata City and moved here.
