Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Nevadaville, Colorado
Founded in 1859, originally Nevadaville was named as Nevada. Confusion with Nevada, CA, prompted the post office to be changed to Bald Mountain, although residents still call this Nevadaville. In the 1860s, Nevadaville was larger than Denver. In 1879, many miners left to go mine Silver in Leadville. After many fires, the last one in 1914, the town was never rebuilt.
