Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Irwin, Colorado
Irwin, located on Keebler pass, has basically nothing left but a few minor structures. It is surrounded by modern homes lived in by people with a sense of humor. A large open area once was occupied by many buildings.
In 1879, cabins and shops were build in Ruby Gulch and many tents sprang up. Inside the Ute reservation at that time, the Meeker Massacre scared most of the population into leaving. At its peak, the population was 450 residents with 75 buildings.
