Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Camp Bird (Upper), Colorado

November 14, 2016Posted by Webmaster

Upper Camp Bird is considered to be a separate town in itself, mostly because of the geographical differences between it and Lower Camp Bird. To reach it required a 4WD high clearance vehicle. It is a great place to learn to drive a standard! (I did here.) Then again, I'm insane. If you drive Imogene pass you will not see most of the buildings, which require a short climb up to the north side of the road. Also visible are the remains of tram rails leading into the camp bird mine upper levels. You could spend a couple hours exploring this site. It started to snow on me while I was here on June 25th, 2008. Most images do not have captions as I have no historical information on what they are.
