Coal View was yet another Coal Mining town. The "Coal View Ranch" sign is actually about half a mile west of the town entrance location, marked in Ken Jessen's ghost town trilogy correctly. The road shown at the end of the photos is the gulch in which the coal mine existed, the houses are about half a mile west and visible from the highway.
