Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Historic Snair Ranch, Colorado

March 25, 2016Posted by Webmaster

The historic ranch was settled in 1875 by Richard Snair. Here, his family settled to raise cattle and chicken. The family had met in Iowa and moved to Denver in 1860, building the first frame house in Denver. They moved to Central City to try luck in the mines. By 1870, three of the five children had died. The family (two children remaining) moved here, perhaps to start afresh.
