Founded by 1890, Hastings had a population of 1500 by 1894. Located in Del Agua Canyon, no structures remain. Although many coke ovens still remain, as at Cokedale. In 1917 a methane gas explosion in the mine killed 121 lives. The cemetery is located farther up the canyon.
