Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Gordon, Colorado
Near County Road 526, Gordon once existed. It was not fenced - only a cattle guard existed. Debris is everywhere, from a few still standing structures, to foundations, rusted tin cans, and concrete blocks, history here is everywhere. And as of when I was there, there was no restrictions on property access.
According to Ken Jessen's book, a town near Gordon was established, renamed, and then its post office was transferred to Gordon. The mine office there still remains standing. In 1937 the Gordon mine was shut down, and the rails were removed in 1968.
When interviewing John over the phone for Ideal, he said he worked at the Gordon site. John, if you see this and want to comment on it, send me an e-mail and I'll post those comments here.
