Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Vicksburg, Colorado
Vicksburg has been fully restored and is occupied seasonally. It still has several features unique to towns of the era. You can see rows of trees planted along the main street and the site even had drainage ditches on each side of the road. A museum is opened seasonally and the road is plowed to Winfield even in winter. Personally, I'd live here year round. An automated recorder system gives an audible history when activated.
The Vicksburg post office was opened in 1881 but lasted only four years. By 1885, the population was at least 150.
