Sargents is along US50 in the Gunnison national forest. Originally called Marshalltown in 1880, it was renamed in 1881 for Joseph Sargents. It is populated, but retains its historic charm. The most famous thing within Sargents is the Denver and Rio Grande water tank which can be seen from the highway.
