Colorado Ghost Town Photography - Independence (Pitkin), Colorado
Like Ashcroft, Independence is reached by paved highway and well preserved. However, Independence pass is closed 8 months out of the year, so access to the site is limited to summer months. A seasonally occupied host occupies a cabin converted gift shop. Flyers are available for the hiker, and many buildings have signs in front of them explaining what they were.
