In 1875, the Ennis brothers paid a "spiritualist" to locate a mine for them. The mine tunnel direction ignored veins of ore, making miners nervous. The site wasn't really a town, just a mining encampment where people lived. It had a post office from 1878 to 1885. Although mining stopped with the price of silver, it eventually continued, and by 1907 (and with new ownership), the mine was the second largest mine in the Silverton area.
